If you haven’t given to the Chull fever yet, well, give it a try. The stylish trio — Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan — are grooving to Badshah’s latest number and have no qualms breaking into a dance, or a song, every so often. A fan of Punjab and its hospitality, team Kapoor & Sons, gearing up for the March 18 release, claims to have lived a life ‘full’’ at Coonoor where they shot most of the film and hope to give you a memorable one.

For Sidharth it was the script that made him hook on to it. Among the two brothers (Fawad plays the elder one), the character that of a fun loving, younger brother is what this actor wanted to be. “I have so far played rather intense characters, playing the youngest Kapoor appealed to me, for once, I could let loose,” opens up Sidharth while popping a pill as he is under the weather with back-to-back promotional events. Soon to be seen in Baar Baar Dekho against Katrina Kaif in a conceptual love story, Sidharth is hoping to leave do memorable films.

Alia is chilled out but yes, she has moved past her ‘genius’ act. On being asked the capital of Punjab by one of the ‘chull’s (here, a tease), she asked the person to say the full form of YSL before. Happy dabbling between girl-next-door and intense characters, Alia found this role very relatable. “It’s story of a typical middle class family so happy at one moment, ready to kill each other at another, a very contemporary take.”

Happy to be juggling between setting her home in Mumbai and promotions, Alia loves to make a stop in Punjab where she has shot extensively. In fact, just before she made the huge crowd rock to Chull, she was busy deciding on the lights for her dining room. “I am so looking forward to be on my own, paying my bills. My mother and sister will there to support me, yet, it’s a beautiful feeling.”

Fawad Khan, the Pakistani heartthrob, has found fans not only both sides of the border but also in his co-stars. “My mum gave me the news almost screaming, ‘Fawad is in your film’. And then followed my friends’ calls, ‘you are shooting with Fawad, can we come’,” shares Alia . Sidharth can’t hold back, sharing the fan moments. “At Coonoor lots of women would show up on the sets and nicely ask, ‘How are you Sidharth beta’, and would go ‘Hello Fawad’, I would keep waiting for ‘beta’ to come but it never did.”

Trust this exceptionally handsome man to take it all in his stride. “When I started I thought with my ‘gusse wale acts’ I will find more following in men; so attention from women has pleasantly surprised me,” says the man. Kapoor & Sons for him is a film that pushes the envelope and takes us close to the unpleasant family situations that have long been cursorily looked in films. Can't wait...

Just friends?

Yes, we are equally keen to know if Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra are more than co-stars? “Yes, Alia is way more and through each film is growing up to be one incredible actor,” answers Sidharth. In fact, Alia is celebrating another working birthday in Delhi this March 15. “Since Sidharth is from Delhi, he is taking us out for good food,” she reveals her birthday plans. And, no, this not all, Sid finds a mention when she talks of moving in her new home too, “Sidharth says (he lives alone) that being on your own is a never-ending hassle but I still can’t wait.” Well, one can’t be sure but only report when asked to choose one between his co-stars — Alia, Parineeti and Katrina, the handsome hunk named Alia without having a second thought. And, did we mention, when asked on their dream role, both picked up sci-fi...

Dance, masti and more

The trio made the young ladies and guys at Guru Gobind Singh College for Women-26 swoon to their tune. They ‘chulled’ (chilling here) with the crowd, rapped for them and Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan gave two girls the surprise of their life by dancing with them on Bolna!
