Like a million pixels come together to define a picture’s resolution, the photo-walk movement witnessed as many as 448 photography enthusiasts who came together to celebrate their love for photography. The walk was organised from the Rose Garden to the Sukhna Lake on Saturday. The record was set at 406 photographers in San Francisco; now NOTYi Photographers have broken this record by 42 more photographers!

The figure of 448 has been sent to the Guinness Book of World Records too, who will soon send their confirmation about the same. While they clicked beautiful photos during the photo-walk, they shared, enjoyed and discussed about the same on social platforms. Hrsimran Singh, city-based digital artist at dCraftzMediatrics, the parent company of NOTYi Photographers, says, “Apart from everything in this photo-walk, what will really take Chandigarh to the world is the aim of breaking the World Record of the most people participating in a photo-walk on a single day.”

According to him, these days photography is affordable and a creative pursuit that all can try their hands on. “So this event isn’t for photographers but for everybody. We are expecting great cooperation from the society as this walk will be a symbol of being united. According to the vision and mission of NOTYi Photographers, we want to set some standards on the profession of photography” commented Singh.

“I enjoyed clicking pictures. Since, I have a magazine of my own I support creative people from across the nation, especially photographers. So, I wanted to join this endeavour,” says Kanwar Digvijay Singh, a volunteer. “Being a part of a world record is a big deal. It’s an honour to represent the City Beautiful on a global platform,” says Sukhdeep Singh, a participant.

Managed by NOTYi Photographers, those who attended the event were given discount vouchers by Nandos. While Mercedes Benz (Panjab Motors) and DSK Benelli were the automobile partners of the event, it was co-partnered by Aashman Foundation, an NGO. Fujifilm also announced 5 DSLR cameras to best photographs in different categories. “We will organise the next photo-walk on October 3, World Wide Photo Walk by photographer Scott Kelby, where 50 photographers selected from this walk will join him for a worldwide walk,” concluded Singh. — TNS
