Following the age-old wisdom, the bee finally chose to go with the good news first—After all, well begun is half done! So, the internet was flooded with posts related to Section 377 that criminalises gay sex in India and it has been a controversial and much talked-about law in the country. The LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) community has been fighting to decriminalise same sex relationships and, the Supreme Court, on February 2, agreed to hear the petition filed by Naz Indian Foundation and referred the matter to a five-judge Constitution bench. Meanwhile, a photograph, posted by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar (in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seen pulling his son Aarav’s ear in jest) went viral on Saturday. “Now, if Modi comes, can Kejriwal be far behind?” asks the bee, but here’s the drill. A Vishakhapatnam-based businessman, embarrassed by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s dressing sense, has sent him a demand draft of Rs 364 requesting Kejriwal to buy a decent pair of shoes and not attend important occasions wearing sandals. Sumit Agrawal, a mechanical engineer, posted an open letter on Facebook saying that he read a report stating that Kejriwal met French President François Hollande at Rashtrapati Bhavan wearing sandals. What next? Will they send him a Shoe-cause notice too?

nThe Zola twitter story about a wild road trip to Florida that went viral late last year is in development to be turned into a feature film that actor James Franco will direct. Zola’s story took the internet by storm in October, captivating everyone from Ava DuVernay to Missy Elliott who both tweeted about the saga. Neel and Mike Roberts are writing the script. Zola’s story, which trended worldwide with the hashtag #TheStory, started with her first tweet, “Okay listen up. This story long. So I met this white bitch at Hooters...” and then goes on to narrate an incredible story that includes plot twists, drama, murder and suicide.
The 148-tweet travelogue was detailed in David Kushner’s Rolling Stone article “Zola Tells All: The Real Story Behind the Greatest Stripper Saga Ever Tweeted,” on which the film is based. Kushner’s story, published in November, describes Zola’s tale as “Spring Breakers meets Pulp Fiction, as told by Nicki Minaj.”

Wear your red lipstick on and hail—Pussy Riot’s new video, Chaika, that renews the attack on dubious governance by mocking its prosecutor for corruption. The Russian feminist punk collective takes on not only corruption, but also the government and the criminal justice system. Band members Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Yekaterina Samutsevich, and Maria Alyokhinaand were sentenced to jail in 2012 for “hooliganism”. Two of them served a year and nine months in prison before they were released under an amnesty law before the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Another member of the group, Yekaterina Samutsevich, was released on parole. In India, however, Two Tihar staffers got into a brawl and the video has gone viral. The incident took place on the night of February 1 when the duo started hitting each other inside a stationary car in Janakpuri area.
