Ask them how their idea to do ‘something different from the rest’ fell into place, and the 21-year-olds reply in unison, “The two of us were classmates in Shishu Niketan School. The idea to start our own venture struck us when we were class 12. It took us quite some time to set the ball rolling though.” Amit says, “With this app, the best discount offers are just a click away.” The duo claims to have been “Fascinated by start-ups in a bid to make Chandigarh a smarter city”.

Explaining the genesis of the name, Amit and Rajat share, “Wowfer is an amalgamation of the words- wow and offer. Through this app, we intend to provide people an easy access to explore the best discount offers in various categories of products and services, across various stores on a daily basis.”

The app culls out data by categorising it into ‘23 categories.’ “And enlists the discount listings of lifestyle, baby care, groceries, books, medicines, hospitality and other products and services available in Chandigarh,” smiles Rajat. The app can be downloaded free of cost and is available on all Android and iOS-based cell-phones.
