The District Food and Supply Controller (DFSC) has served notices to 103 ration depot owners under the PDS Control Act 2009 for alleged misappropriation in distribution of grains through online system.
Former Zila Parishad member and Jan Awaaj Society head Jogender Swami has filed a complaint to the DFSC office about an alleged scam in the public distribution system with the connivance of officials and ration depot holders. Swami gave a list of 126 ration cards in which fake beneficiaries were added and their Aadhaar cards linked to the official portal.
Following the complaint, DFSC Anita Kharab ordered an inquiry by DFSO Naresh Kumar and AFSO Surender Dixit.
During preliminary investigation, they found misappropriation and on the basis of the findings the DFSC has referred the matter to the police department.
Besides, the department has initiated an inquiry into the matter and issued notices to the depot owners, warning if the allegation found true their licence would be cancelled.
Kharab said some depot holders had filed their reply to the department.
