After lodging of complaints, a special meeting of the STF team investigating these cases was convened in Gurugram on Wednesday by DIG Satish Balan and a new action plan was reportedly discussed in the meeting.

The arrest of six persons and their interrogation in police custody had brought out the names of doctors and other staff of the PGIMS Rohtak and civil hospitals allegedly involved in conducting postmortem of cancer patients for fake insurance claims and destroying records later.

Eight persons were wanted for further investigation. They were identified as Rajesh of Rai village, Joni of Liwaspur, Pradeep of Rohat, Sachin of Tihar village, Rakesh of Ugra Kheri village, Ravinder of Narela, Sahil of Nilothi and Padam of Rohtak. The police formed three teams to arrest them.

Aman Bedi, associate vice-president, Bharti Axa Insurance Company, had lodged a complaint with the DGP (Crime) that a number of fake insurance claims of cancer patients were being received by the company after certification that the patients had died in accidents.
