3 convicted in Hisar gang rape case

A district court on Thursday convicted three persons, including an auto-rickshaw driver, for gang rape on the night of December 5, 2017.

The auto-rickshaw driver was identified as Rishi, alias Muchchal, a resident of 12 Quarters in Hisar. His accomplices were identified as Sachin of Saniyan Mohalla and Nikhil of Jhiri Colony.

The married woman had boarded the auto-rickshaw from the bus stand in Hisar that fateful night. All co-passengers except two others got off on the way.

The culprits had covered the rear of the auto-rickshaw with cloth and played loud music. They dumped the woman near the Army Cantonment after the crime and fled.

Additional Sessions Judge Dr Pankaj, also judge, special court for heinous crime against women, held the three accused guilty. The court would award quantum of sentence on Monday.
