Yamunanagar, March 22
Eight farmers of the Radaur subdivision of Yamunanagar district allegedly procured loan of Rs 85.15 lakh from a bank with the help of bogus documents.
Six FIRs have been registered against farmers Aakash, Vikas, Savita Rani, Sukhbir Singh, Ramesh Kumar, Yoginder Singh, Narinder Singh and Vikram Singh under various Sections of the IPC at the Sadar police station, Yamunanagar, in the past one week.
The cases were registered on the complaints of Shubham Narwal and Gulshan Anand, officials of Sarva Haryana Gramin Bank, Raipur village branch (Yamunanagar district). The complainants said Aakash, Vikas and Savita Rani procured a loan of Rs 12.31 lakh in 2016. Vikram Singh got a loan of Rs 15 lakh in 2015 and Ramesh Kumar procured a loan of Rs 19.75 lakh in 2015.
Meanwhile, Yoginder Singh got a loan of Rs 11.6 lakh in 2015, Sukhbir Singh of Rs 14.89 lakh in 2015 and Narinder Singh of Rs 11.6 lakh in 2015 from the Sarva Haryana Gramin Bank branch of Raipur village.
They alleged the accused procured the loans with the help of bogus documents (altering land revenue record).
They further alleged all accused had procured agriculture loan from other banks too before approaching their bank.
“The documents (jamabandis and other documents) of their land were already mortgaged with other banks. Therefore, they forged jamabandis to prepare proof of the ownership of their agricultural land to get the credit facility sanctioned from our bank,” alleged the complainants. The complainants said the farmers got the credit facility by way of kisan credit card from their bank. The fraud came to light when the farmers didn’t repay bank loan for long and the bank authorities checked their documents to start the legal process against the farmers to recover the loan amount.
