Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state unit president Naveen Jaihind has begun a two-day ‘tapasya’ over increasing cases of sexual crime against minor girls in the country.
“I am hurt at the cases of rape and other sexual crime against small girls and am praying so that good sense prevails among the people in general,” Jaihind told reporters before beginning his ‘tapasya’ here today.
Jaihind sat in the open under the scorching sun amidst heaps of burning dung-cakes. His ‘tapasya’ will also include a ‘maun-vrat’.
“It will not make any difference to me if someone calls my ‘tapasya’ a drama. I am perturbed at the increasing violence and deteriorating social harmony. I do not consider myself pious and feel that all of us need to introspect,” he stated.
