ACP’s father attacked, car snatched

A 65-year-old man was injured and his car was snatched by two persons outside NH1 in Ambala on Saturday. The accused were later nabbed from Pipli.

The injured has been identified as Dr Ratan Kumar, a resident of Ambala City. He is the father of ACP Pankhuri Kumar and father-in-law of ACP Hitesh Yadav, both posted in Gurugram.

 Dr Kumar had gone to NH1, a factory outlet of different brands, on the National Highway, for shopping with his wife. Around 7.15 pm, when Dr Kumar was approaching his car, the accused hit him on his face, near the ear, and took away his car.

After getting information, police officials reached the spot and the injured was rushed to Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment. Teams in Ambala, Kurukshetra and Karnal started the hunt for the accused, who were rounded up in Pipli Kurukshetra and the car was recovered.

The accused belong to Indri block of Karnal district.— TNS
