The SIT constituted to probe the thrashing of Naushad, a youth from Uttar Pradesh, over the suspicion of cow smuggling at a village in Rohtak, started its inquiry on Tuesday.

On being asked about the alleged lapses on the part of police, he said action would be taken if any policeman was found guilty.
“We will find out whether any cow was being smuggled. We will also get the person(s) involved in the thrashing of the youth identified. Then, legal action will be taken against whoever is found guilty,” he said.
Meanwhile, a delegation comprising representatives of social organisations met Rohtak SP Jashandeep Singh Randhawa, and urged him to ensure justice for Naushad.
