The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has directed to incorporate GPAT score along with GATE score wherever required for any funding and admission purposes.

A spokesman of the Haryana Technical Education Department said that in view of requests from pharmacy students to declare GPAT score and its validity as equivalent to that of GATE score, the AICTE had decided that GPAT score would be valid for a period of three years from the date of announcement of results, at par with GATE rules. This would be effective from the GPAT examination conducted in January 2017 batch onwards.

The council has also decided that eligibility criteria, scholarship, validity and all other rules applicable to GATE would also be made applicable for GPAT. Only Bachelor’s degree holders in pharmacy and those who are in final year of such programmes are eligible for GPAT examination. — TNS
