Ambala Cantt railway station ranked 56th in cleanliness

The Ambala Cantt railway station has been ranked 56th in a cleanliness survey of 75 A-1 category railway stations across the country.

Surat followed by Rajkot and Bilaspur railway stations bagged the top positions. Solapur and Mumbai central came on the fourth and fifth spot respectively, while Chandigarh was ranked 6th in the category.

The survey report was released by the Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Thursday.

Dinesh Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), said the Ambala Cantt railway stations needs drastic improvement.

Shatabadi to run on 130kmph

The travelling time between Amritsar to Delhi will reduce by about half an hour as the Commission of Railway Safety has given the approval to increase the speed of Shatabadi trains from 110 kmph to 130 kmph.

DRM Dinesh Kumar said: “The commission has given its approval and the speed of Shatabadi trains will be increased after notification issued by the Railway Board. It may be implemented in the new time table which will be issued in July.”
