Faridabad, February 12
Ballabgarh, a subdivisional town of the district, will soon have the mini-secretariat to house the offices of the local administration.
Sources said tenders for the Rs 10.72-crore project were likely to be floated within a week as the state government had granted approval for the same.
They said Ballabgarh would be the first subdivision in the district to get such a facility. The mini- secretariat building would be constructed by the Public Works Department (PWD) on over 22 kanal near the Raja Nahar Singh palace building. Currently, the offices of the SDM, Tehsildar, DSP and other officials were being run from the old Panchayat Bhawan building. Since the present building was too congested to house so many offices, the local authorities and MLA Mool Chand Sharma had been seeking a new and independent administrative complex.
“ We have submitted the estimates for the project and tenders are likely to floated within a week,’’ said Rahul Singh, Executive Engineer, PWD.
He said after the beginning of the work, the construction was expected to be completed within 18 months. The space for the complex would be made available after the demolition of the old residences of the SDM and Tehsildar.
The mini-secretariat complex may also house the office of the Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ballabharh division. At present, it is functioning from the old city police station building. According to information, houses for some officials would also be constructed in the complex.
