Chandigarh, May 7
Congress MLA Karan Singh Dalal on Monday sought registration of an FIR against functionaries of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) for presenting Brahmins in bad light.
In the written examination for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil) held on April 10, the HSSC had posed a question, “What is not considered a bad omen in Haryana?” Of the four options, two were “sight of a Brahmin girl” and “meeting with a black Brahmin”.
“The BJPgovernment has now started to discriminate on the basis of colour of the skin and gender,” he told the media here.
The HSSC has since apologised for the faux pas and has also withdrawn the question.
“Whosoever did it must be brought to book. A case of sedition should be registered against him,” Dalal said, adding that was not an isolated incident, but a part of series of actions aimed at dividing society on the basis of caste and religion.
“On one hand, the BJP speaks of digital India and, on the other, the BJP is polluting youth who are yet to join government service,” the Palwal MLA said.
He called upon Brahmin MLAs and MPs of the BJP to resign in protest.
