Panipat, April 19
Balwinder Singh Bhunder, Rajya Sabha member and Haryana affairs incharge of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), said on Thursday that the party would fight parliamentary and Assembly elections on its own next year.
He said Sikh voters were the deciding factor on around 35 seats. He and state SAD president Sharanjit Singh Sahota were interacting with mediapersons here.
Bhunder said the SAD could tie up with any party except the Congress. He said SAD would fight elections on the basis of its policies and the main agenda would be problems of farmers, small traders, government employees and youth.
On the SYL issue, Bhunder said the party was not against the share of farmers and all parties would have to obey the apex court’s decision. Sahota said they would raise farmers’ issues.
