Kurukshetra July 1
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched the ‘Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon’ scheme from Dyalpur village of Kurukshetra district today.
The Chief Minister said: “With the launch of the scheme, power supply to 83 rural domestic supply feeders has been increased from the existing 12 hours to 15 hours.”
He assured that 24-hour power would be supplied if the villages fulfil all parameters. “With the replacement of defective meters and shifting of the existing meters outside consumers’ houses and replacement of faulty wires, the supply will be increased from 15 hours to 18 hours every day. Consequently, with the improvement in the billing and collections to 90 per cent and reducing the line loss to below 20 per cent, supply hours will be increased to 21 hours a day. Once these parameters show further improvement, the villages will get uninterrupted supply for 24 hours,” he said.
Khattar asked the people to pay their bills and motivate others to do so and not to steal power through ‘kundi’ connections.
He said, “Almost all other political parties in the past had promised to provide 24-hour electricity but did nothing in this context. They had installed polls and wires, but there was no electricity. And in spite of making efforts to provide electricity, their leaders used to do ask villagers not to pay bills.”
The Dyalpur 11-KV RDS feeder has been adopted by Thanesar MLA Subhash Sudha. There are six villages- Dyalpur, Samispur, Aalampur, Kheri Bhramna, Salarpur and Kheri Ramnagar- under this feeder.
