Yogesh, owner of Batra Plywood factory, was found dead on May 27 last year at his residence in Sector 17 of HUDA in Jagadhri, where he used to live with his wife Priyanka.

Priyanka told his father Subhash Batra that Yogesh had died of heart attack and cremated the body without post-mortem examination.

Yogesh’s father suspected it to be a murder and field a complaint with the Yamunanagar police. When the police failed to investigate the case, he approached the Haryana DGP. Following this, the case was transferred to the Karnal police and an SIT was formed under the CIA-II in charge, Karnal.

The police said Priyanka had illicit relationship with her gym trainer Rohit. As Yogesh objected to their affair, Priyanka and Rohit planned to kill him. They contacted Uttar Pradesh-based Satish Kumar and Sonu for getting Yogesh killed and they allegedly strangled him.

An FIR was registered against the accused onSeptember 21.

Granddaughter’s involvement alleged

Through his counsel, deceased’s father Subhash Batra has filed an application in court on June 14 against his granddaughter, who is a minor and a student of Class 12, requesting summoning her as an additional accused. He alleged she was involved in planning the conspiracy of murdering her father Yogesh Batra.
