Accompanied by MLAs Shakuntala Khattak and Jagbir Singh Malik, Congress MP from Rohtak, Deepender Singh Hooda today met the family members of 14-year-old Dalit boy Govinda, who was found dead near his house in Devipura Colony at Gohana in the wee hours on October 22.
He expressed his condolences to the family and demanded immediate financial assistance and a government job to one of the members of the family.
Talking to mediapersons, Hooda said the investigating agency in the case should ensure justice to the family of the deceased. Asking the government to accept the demand of the family for an investigation into the case by the CBI, Hooda chided the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for announcing the incident as a case of suicide.
It is recalled that a case of murder had been registered against two police personnel of the city police station Gohana on the complaint of family members. The post-mortem examination by a panel of doctors at the PGIMS, Rohtak, had given hanging as the cause of the death.
The police had constituted a Special Investigating Team headed by the DSP Rohtak, Amit Bhatia, in the case. However, no arrest has been made so far.
