Karnal, October 17
Dr Saket Kumar, Director General, Medical Education and Research, today directed senior drug controller to take samples of medicines being used in the paediatric ICU of Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College and Hospital (KCGMCH) here.
During a visit to the hospital, Dr Kumar inspected ICU, emergency ward, labour room and college building. He also directed Dr Yogesh Sharma, Civil Surgeon, to take samples of food being served to patients.
Dr Kumar inspected the new building of the hospital and reviewed the construction work still going on even after the inauguration of OPD and other buildings. He directed officials of the construction company to speed up the work.
Earlier, he held a meeting in the office of KCGMCH Director Dr Surinder Kashyap and discussed the project. He was informed about the problems being faced by the hospital like staff crunch.
After inspecting the new building, the DG went to chemical laboratory where he got angry over filthiness and directed the authorities to maintain cleanliness. Dr Kumar also visited the old building so that Civil Hospital could be started in the building. Later, he reached Kutail village to inspect the proposed site of medical university.
