As the campaign intensified in the Bhiwani-Mahendragarh Lok Sabha constituency, traditional rivals sitting BJP MP Dharambir Singh and Congress candidate Shruti Choudhry’s mother and Tosham MLA Kiran Choudhry targeted each other today.

During the campaign in Bhiwani, Dharambir alleged that his opponents were trying to defame him by posting videos on the social media. He said such gimmicks would not work for his rivals as people had made up their minds to vote for the formation of a strong government under the leadership of Narendra Modi.

“My opponents are trying to misguide the electorate by using the social media as they have no other issue to talk about. The Manohar Lal Khattar-led Haryana Government and the Modi government at the Centre have performed well on the development front and there is no genuine issue that can be raked up by the opposition parties,” he claimed.

On the other hand, Kiran Choudhry during her dozens of public meetings in the Tosham Assembly segment stated that the BJP candidate had been declared a failed politician by the people. “The BJP nominee has taken recourse to ‘nationalism’ as he has no achievement to his credit during his five-year tenure,” she said.

Choudhry alleged that “jumla” had become the byword for the BJP leaders and they were trying to distract people from the genuine issues of development and welfare of society by raking up the sentimental issue of nationalism for political gains.
