Chandigarh: JJP leader Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday said he had received a threat over telephone, following which a complaint was lodged with the Jind police. “I was engaged in a political event on Monday when my assistant received a call on my mobile. The person on the other end gave his name as Pawan and said he was calling from Dubai,” he wrote in a communication to Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora. “The caller told my assistant in a threatening manner to advise me not to speak much in election rallies lest I face dire consequences. He told my assistant that he belonged to a gang operating under the name of Pablo Escobar,” he wrote. The letter was marked to the Ministry of Home Affairs. TNS
