Dussehra holiday on October 19

Chandigarh: The state government has notified that October 19, and not October 18, will be observed as a public holiday on account of Dussehra for all government employees posted in boards, corporations and educational institutions. The Chief Secretary’s office on Monday issued a notification in this regard. TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
