With the aim of providing meals at Rs 10 to labourers, the Labour Department on Wednesday started a canteen under the Antyodaya Aahar Yojana in Uttam Nagar on Karnal’s outskirts.

Panchkula MLA Gian Chand Gupta, Gharaunda MLA and Hafed chairman Harvinder Kalyan, former Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, district BJP president Jagmohan Anand and ADC Nishan Kumar Yadav distributed meals to the needy.

The Panchkula MLA enjoyed the food and appreciated the initiative. He said a meal in this canteen would be available for Rs 10. The canteen would be open from 10 am to 3 pm.
