Everester’s mortal remains consigned to flames
Sonepat, May 26
The body of Ravi Thakur, a BTech IT engineer and resident of the local Tara Nagar colony who died while descending from the peak of Mount Everest, was consigned to flames here on Saturday.
His family members alleged there was a delay on part of the authorities in Nepal and India to start search operation after he went missing from the fourth base camp.
On the demand of the Nepalese Government, the Haryana Government had given its consent to bear the expenses of Rs 30.80 lakh for conducting search operation to trace him. His body was recovered by the search team on Thursday and it was brought here late last evening by the family members of his family from the Delhi airport. — OC
