Exempt combine harvester from toll: Dushyant
Hisar, January 7
After tractor, Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala has now demanded that combine harvester should be exempted from toll.
Dushyant, who rode a combine harvester to Dhiranwas village of Hisar district, said combine harvester was used in agricultural activity and it was wrong to include it in the category of commercial vehicle. “Toll is levied on combine harvester as it is considered a commercial vehicle, which is wrong. I will raise the issue in the Lok Sabha during the next session,” he told villagers.
The MP said combine harvester was important farming equipment like tractor as manual harvesting had almost become redundant.
“We hope the government will exempt combine harvester from toll as it is taken from one village to another during the harvesting season,” said the villagers. — TNS
