Kaithal, January 15
In a strange case of looting, a factory owner watched the incident live on his mobile phone through the CCTV cameras installed on the factory premises.
He also informed the police but the armed robbers fled before the owner and the police could reach the spot.
Mangal Garg, owner of Krishna Overseas, a plastic scrap factory on Geong - Ujhana road near Kaithal, had installed CCTV cameras at the factory to keep a watch on the activities in his absence. Garg, a resident of Sector 19, HUDA, was shocked when on the night of January 13, during perusal of the CCTV cameras on his mobile phone around 10 pm, he noticed eight-10 armed persons scaling the back wall and entering the premises of the factory.
They overpowered the chowkidar, Inder, and snatched keys from him at pistol point.
The miscreants decamped with a 32-inch LED, setup box, internet dongle and the chowkidar’s mobile.
Luckily, nothing valuable except plastic scrap was in the factory at that time of the incident.
The owner immediately informed the police and rushed to his factory but the robbers had fled by then. He has handed over the CCTV camera recording to the police.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case under the Arms Act and relevant sections of the IPC against the miscreants.
