Faridabad soldier injured in J&K gunfight succumbs

Faridabad, February 19

A pall of gloom descended on Atali village of the Ballabgarh subdivision of the district after Lance Naik Sandeep Singh of 10 Para Battalion of the Army succumbed to his injuries at Army Hospital in Srinagar on Tuesday.

Sandeep, 33, was critically injured in an encounter that took place between security forces and terrorists at Ratipura village of Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on February 12.

The soldier is survived by his father Nain Pal, mother Kesar Devi, wife Geeta and three minor children, including two twin sons (2) and a daughter (6). — TNS
