Farmers to get grant for equipment

The Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department will provide grant on agricultural equipment for the management of crop residue.

The interested farmers can apply online on the directions and proforma available on the department website www.agriharyana.gov.in latest by 5 pm on October 25.

Stating this here yesterday, Dr Abhilaksh Likhi, Principal Secretary of the department, said farmers would have to upload different documents, including valid tractor registration certificate, report of the patwari on agriculture details of small and marginal farmers, Aadhaar card, bank details such as name of the bank, branch, account number and IFSC code, mobile number, caste certificate, PAN number, undertaking that the farmer had not availed the benefit of any grant on agricultural equipment in the last five years and bills of agricultural equipment along with the photograph of the farmer with the equipment.

Likhi said a grant of 50 per cent was being provided on agricultural equipment to farmers belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, small farmers, marginal farmers and women, whereas a grant of 40 per cent was being provided to others. The agricultural equipment included happy seeder, rotary plough, reaper binder, straw baler, mulcher, reversible plough, hay rake, straw chopper, straw shredder, straw slasher and straw reaper.

For any information, the farmer may contract the Deputy Director (Agriculture) or assistant engineer (Agriculture) of the district concerned. Those farmers who had submitted their applications during the Kisan Mela need not apply online, he added.
