Fatehabad, October 30
Three days after her husband, Dr Jimmy Jindal, was thrashed, stripped and paraded with his face blackened before his arrest for allegedly raping a patient, his wife, Siya Jindal, today alleged that the police were not arresting the perpetrators of violence against her husband and now she and her entire family were receiving threats.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, NHRC, State Human Rights Commission, DC, SP and local SHO, Dr Siya Jindal has alleged that she had lodged an FIR on October 28 but no efforts were being made to arrest the culprits. “Those who committed the crime against my husband were threatening me with dire consequences,” she has alleged in her letter. She said she and her family feared threat to life from those named in her complaint and her entire family was living under constant fear.
Meanwhile, local people at a meeting today threatened to close markets on Wednesday if the FIR against those who attacked the doctor was not withdrawn by then.
