Fire broke out at various places in the district following high velocity winds late last evening, creating panic. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who was in the Narwana area, after getting information visited Salempur Mehmood village around 11 pm. The fire had spread to a dharamshala and two houses at Salempur Mehmood village but there was no loss of life. Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Soni and SP Waseem Akram also rushed to the village in view of the emergency.
The Chief Minister said that the administration has been directed to asses the losses and the victims would be given compensation, according to the government policy.
A sudden eruption of fire at several places one after the other created panic and fire engines and people together tried to extinguish the raging flames. Crops on a few acres, and wheat straw left in fields were damaged at many places, causing losses to farmers. All six fire engines from Kaithal were rushed to different places from where fire incidents were reported.
The fire broke out in Barsana, Deeg, Bandrana Silla Khera, Dogar Patti Sajuma, Taragarh, Kichana, Salempur Mehmood, Bhagal, Kolekhan, Matour, Rajound and other places.
