KAITHAL: The police conducted a flag march under the supervision of DC Sunita Verma, SP Sumer Partap Singh and ADC Shakti Singh at Guhla-cheeka, Kalayat and Kaithal today.

The police conducted a flag march under the supervision of DC Sunita Verma, SP Sumer Partap Singh and ADC Shakti Singh at Guhla-cheeka, Kalayat and Kaithal today. The flag march started from the Mini Secretariat and passed through Dhand Road, Kurukshetra road chowk, new bus stand, Jind road bypass, ITI, Pehowa Chowk, Chhotu Ram Chowk, RKSD College and Khuran Road bypass before proceeding to Siwan.

The SP and ADC along with police force also marched on foot for some distance in the town area and assured the residents on security. The SP also addressed the police jawans deployed at the bus stand. The ADC appreciated the roadways staff for remaining alert to safe guard the roadways property. He informed the police was on maximum alert and strict vigil was being maintained to prevent any untoward incident.

14 arsonists sent in judicial custody

A local court sent 14 persons arrested in connection with arson and violence following the conviction of Gurmeet Ram Rahim in judicial custody today.

Superintendent of Police Sumer Pratap Singh said eight of the 14 accused — Surjit Singh, Suresh and Gurtej of Cheeka, Randeep and Sohan Singh of Bhagal, Subhash of Harigarh Kingan village, Harpal of Gaggarpur and Gurdhian of Channa Jatan were held for damaging two petrol stations on Kaithal Road in Cheeka. Four other accused include Lakhvinder Singh, Jasbir Singh, Madan singh and Balkar Singh of Kasour village, Dharam Pal of Chausala and Jasbir of Balu village.
