BJP leaders take out a roadshow in Sonepat on Friday

Sonepat: The BJP’s Sonepat candidate, Ramesh Chander Kaushik, filed his nomination in presence of Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu after holding a roadshow here.

In the affidavit, Kaushik has declared that his assets and that of his wife are worth Rs 23.58 crore, up from Rs 17.98 crore in 2014. He owns a vehicle worth Rs 35 lakh. Kaushik has Rs 1.85 lakh cash in hand, while his wife has Rs 95,000. — OC

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
