Phool Chand, a former Haryana Cabinet minister, died after a brief illness at his residence in Sector 15 here late last night. He was 86. He is survived by two sons Sanjay and Nitin and other family members. His body was consigned to flames in the Sector 15 cremation ground.
Phool Chand was elected MLA from the Sahlawas Assembly Constituency on the Congress ticket in 1967. He was made Minister of State for PWD in the Cabinet of the then Chief Minister Rao Birender Singh in 1968.
Urban Local Bodies Minister Kavita Jain attended the cremation. She expressed condolences to the bereaved family. She said Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has also mourned the death of the former minister. Various prominent citizens of the town attended the cremation.
