There are immense possibilities of new inventions and research in the agriculture sector in the state and scientists should focus more on this area.
This was stated by Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya while addressing a gathering after conferring the Haryana Vigyan Ratna Award and the Haryana Yuva Vigyan Ratna Award on scientists during a function organised on National Science Day by the Department of Science and Technology on Thursday.
Rajender Singh Verma was honoured with the Haryana Vigyan Ratna Award and Sanjeev Kumar and Poonam Arora were presented the Haryana Yuva Vigyan Ratna Award for 2017.
Bakshi Ram was honoured with the Haryana Vigyan Ratna Award and Surender Singh and Dr Rajender with the Haryana Yuva Vigyan Ratna Award for 2018.
Chief Secretary DS Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary (Science and Technology) Amit Jha, member of the Haryana Public Service Commission Kulbir Chhikara and Director, Science and Technology Rajiv Rattan were present.
