Hisar mountaineer to get national award

Teenage mountaineer from Hisar town, who conquered Mount Everest, Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa and Mount Elbrus in Europe within five months, is among the 21 children selected for the National Children Award, 2018.
A student of BA first year at Bhagat Phool Singh Women University in Khanpur Kalan village in Sonepat, Shivangi became the youngest mountaineer in the country to climb Mount Everest from the Nepal side.
Aarti Pathak, Shivangi’s mother, said on Friday that they got an email from the Woman and Child Development Ministry, inviting Shivangi to attend the award ceremony on January 22 at Rashtrapati Bhawan. — TNS
