Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s adopted daughter Honeypreet Insan has been remanded in judicial custody for 10 days.
Another woman, Sukhdeep Kaur, who was arrested with her earlier this month, has also been remanded in judicial custody. Haryana Police did not push for extending their custody.
Both Honeypreet Insan and Sukhdeep Kaur have been sent to Ambala jail.
Honeypreet Insan has been arrested on sedition charges for having enflamed violence that followed the Dera chief’s conviction in two rape cases on August 25.
She went missing soon after, and was arrested on October 3, after the Delhi High Court rejected her anticipatory bail application.
More than 40 people were killed in the large-scale violence that followed Ram Rahim Singh’s conviction. Agencies
