The HUDA estate office has withdrawn occupation certificate (OC) issued to a factory owner for allegedly furnishing fake documents and affidavits prepared by architects. The estate office has also written to the Council of Architecture seeking cancellation of licences issued to the two city-based architects.
HUDA sources said, “Plot no 653-P in part 2 of Sector 29 was allotted to Bajaj Handloom Industries. The plot owners applied for OC on March 12 through a registered architect at Gohana Road. They submitted drawings of the built structure, along with forms and affidavits, at the estate office.”
The HUDA officials issued the OC on the basis of the documents, drawings and affidavits furnished by the architecture, but the plot was found vacant on physical verification following which the OC was withdrawn on March 22. The HUDA estate office has also withdrawn OCs issued against two residential plots: 427 in Sector-6 and 331 in Sector-7, on similar grounds. Devender Kumar Malik, SDO, HUDA, said, “The OC can be withdrawn at any stage.”
