Yamunanagar, October 23
An infant was killed and six other members of his family injured on Tuesday when the car they were travelling in collided with a tractor-trolley near Araiyawala village on the Jagadhri-Paonta Sahib highway.
Deceased Harshiv, son of Amit of Ramgarh village in Panchkula district, was over a month old. Other members of the family — Jagmal, Shiksha Devi, Amit, Neha, Rekha and Mannat — were injured.
The injured were taken to the trauma centre in Yamunanagar. Jagmal and Mannat, who sustained serious injuries, were referred to the PGI in Chandigarh.
Jagmal and his family visited a religious place in Uttarakhand in the morning. When they were returning home, their car hit a tractor-trolley as the driver of the tractor-trolley braked.
After postmortem, the body of the infant was handed over to his family. A case was registered against the driver of the tractor-trolley at the Khizrabad police station.
