The family and friends of Additional District Judge (ADJ) Krishan Kant are in a state of shock.
Advocate Nishant Verma, a family friend who practiced law with Krishan Kant for about a decade before his appointment as the ADJ four years ago, said the entire family was humble and good-natured. “The younger son of the ADJ, Raghav, is a Class V student in a school in Gurugram,” he said.
“It was a shocker for all of us. Krishan Kant’s father Devraj Bhagat is bedridden. We have not broken the tragic news to him. The entire town stands by them in this hour of grief,” he said, and added ADJ’s wife Ritu, who hailed from Ludhiana, was a well-natured person.
Krishan Kant’s brother Sanjay Arya lives in Preeti Nagar here with their father. Arya, who practice as a sales tax advocate here, said Ritu’s cremation would be performed on Monday.
Neighbours in Preeti Nagar recalled the family often used to visit their house. “Devraj has been a sales tax lawyer of immense standing in the town,” a neighbour said, adding the neighbourhood was shocked.
