Chandigarh, November 5
The Haryana Government today suspended Deputy Director Agriculture Kaithal Pawan Sharma for not checking stubble-burning.
Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Sanjeev Kaushal said, “He has been suspended on the complaint of Deputy Commissioner Kaithal.”
Besides that, Director General Agriculture issued orders for deployment of manpower to check stubble-burning in critical districts. Fatehabad will get additional manpower of 105, while Sirsa-59, Kaithal-42, Jind-21 and Hisar-4.The manpower has been shifted from neighbouring districts.
Stubble-burning has reduced in the state, compared to previous year, due to strict checking. Against 32,119 active fire locations (AFLs) witnessed in Punjab this season, 4,673 active fire locations have been reported in Haryana.
The AFL figures are based on images collected by six different satellites.
