Chandigarh, November 24
The government today appointed Additional Chief Secretary KK Khandelwal and retired IAS officer Rajan Gupta as chairpersons of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) for its Gurugram and Panchkula Benches respectively.
Sources in the government informed The Tribune that Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar issued orders to this effect today.
A selection committee headed by Justice Surya Kant of the Punjab and Haryana High Court constituted under Real Estate (Registration and Regulation) Act had earlier panels comprising Khandelwal and retired IAS officer KK Jalan for Gurugram Bench and Gupta and retired district and sessions judge AKS Pawar for Panchkula Bench of the RERA.
Later, Leader of Opposition Abhay Singh Chautala had written a letter to Khattar urging him not to consider names of Jalan and Gupta because they were part of the committee of three officers that gave clean chit to Shikohpur land deal by company owned by Robert Vadra.
