Ambala, August 5
Chitra Sarwara, secretary and social media incharge, All-India Mahila Congress, on Friday said the All-India Mahila Congress would launch its logo and flag during the Mahila Adhikar Sammelan on August 7 in Delhi.
The logo and the flag will be launched by Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
Speaking to mediapersons here in Ambala Cantonment, Sarwara said, “Earlier, the Mahila Congress was working as a cell of the Congress, but 32 years ago, a constitution was adopted and it became a separate entity. Its logo and flag will be launched on August 7. A large number of women from across the country have been invited to the event and special invitations have been sent to those women members who have contested or held any position in the Congress in the past. They will give their suggestions and have a dialogue with the Congress president.”
After the sammelan, Aakrosh Yatras will be organised across the country. Chitra said, “It will be a month-long programme. In Haryana, the yatra is expected to start from Panchkula and it will cover the state in six days. The Mahila Congress will raise the issues of inflation and women safety here.”
To a query, she said, “When the Mahila Congress became a separate entity, not much importance used to be given to branding. But in this era, everyone talks about branding and presentation. We spoke to Congress president Rahul Gandhi in this regard and he readily agreed to launch it.”
