Satish, a resident of Bhadana village in the district, allegedly murdered his wife Jyoti, a teacher in a government school, and two sons Aryan (14) and Lakshya (16), with a sharp-edged weapon at their rented accomodation here in HUDA’s Sector-15 last night.
After killing his family members, Satish too committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan.
The incident came to the notice of the landlord, Ram Kumar, after he got suspicious and found that the doors of the house were not opened since morning. He informed the police and Satish’s sister, who lived in a nearby locality.
The police entered the house after breaking the doors and found the three bodies lying on the bed and Satish was found hanging from a fan in the room. The police also recovered a suicide note, reportedly written by Satish, stating that he took the extreme step as his wife had illicit relations with some other person.
However, in his complaint to the police, Satish’s brother Praveen stated that Jyoti had illicit relations with Pradeep Mehla, husband of the chairperson of a block samiti, who had also allegedly threatened Satish for life.
Praveen said Satish had brought the matter to the notice of his wife’s brothers Sandeep and Kuldeep and her mother Nirmala. But, they also allegedly threatened him of dire consequences.
Narender, SHO, Civil Lines police station, said on a complaint by Praveen, a case had been registered against Pradeep Mehla, Nirmala, Sandeep and Kuldeep. The suicide note had also been sent to FSL for testing.
