The court of Additional Sessions Judge Dr Sunita Grover on Tuesday sentenced a person to 10-year imprisonment for raping an eight-year-old daughter of his younger brother on April 4.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs28,000 on the convict.
According to a police complaint, the victim, a student of Class II, was playing in a street when her uncle asked her to bring some articles from a shop. When the girl returned with articles, he raped her and threatened her to kill if she narrated the incident to anyone. At the night, the girl felt pain in her stomach and narrated the incident to her mother. A complaint was lodged on April 5. — OC
