Man held for sexually harassing minor Dalit

The Gurugram police have arrested a Shikohpur village resident for allegedly sexually harassing and passing casteist comments on a 16-year-old Dalit girl.

An FIR has been registered at the Kherki Daula police station. The accused was produced in a city court and sent to judicial custody.

According to the complaint filed by the mother of the victim, the incident happened at Shikohpur village on Sunday. She said her daughter reached home crying and said she had been molested by Ajit Singh of the village.

“My daughter was returning from a grocery shop when the accused stopped her on the way and passed lewd and casteist comments. He molested and abused her,” said the complainant.

After getting information, a police team reached the spot and took the accused in custody. An FIR under the POCSO and SC/ST Acts was registered against him.
