Man murders daughter in Karnal village

A 19-year-old girl was on Monday stabbed to death allegedly by her father at Bahri village in the Assandh block of Karnal district.

The police said Rajesh Kumar was mentally upset and he stabbed his daughter Dolly more than 20 times, leading to her death on the spot.

The police ruled out honour killing and said the reasons behind the death were being investigated. “We have registered a case and arrested the accused,” said Dalbir Singh, DSP, Assandh.

In his complaint, Raj Kumar, father of the 52-year-old accused, reported that his son, a farmer, was in depression and undergoing treatment.

He said Rajesh started beating her up and when her grandmother tried to save her, he stabbed Dolly with scissors and fled. — TNS
