The department of physical education at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) here would soon establish a laboratory for naturopathy to impart practical training to students.
“The laboratory will have the facilities of steam, spinal, sauna, foot and hand baths, besides ultramodern equipment used in naturopathy. The project will cost Rs 20 lakh and will also facilitate launch of some new job-oriented courses in yoga,” said Prof Rajendra Prasad Garg, head of the physical education department.
He claimed no university in the state had such lab facility so far. “We are also planning to introduce vocational courses in sports nutrition and dietetics,” said Garg.
