Panchkula, October 12
Dera Sacha Sauda chairperson Vipassana once again failed to turn up before a special investigating team (SIT) of the Haryana Police for questioning in the August 25 Panchkula violence case.
Panchkula Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Manbir Singh said, according to the report of a board of doctors appointed by the government, Vipassana was medically fit but she still did not turn up today. Now, she has been asked to come for questioning tomorrow, he said.
Earlier, citing medical grounds, Vipassana had not appeared before the SIT on October 10.
The SIT had asked Vipassana to appear in Panchkula in connection with the FIR No. 345 registered at Sector 5 police station, in which Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s adopted daughter Honeypreet, dera spokesperson Aditya Insan and other top functionaries are accused of sedition and conspiracy.
As many as 35 persons were killed and more than 200 persons injured in the August 25 violence in Panchkula following Ram Rahim’s conviction in two rape cases.
