MLA’s husband loses Bar poll in Faridabad
Faridabad, April 8
Ashwini Trikha, husband of Seema Trikha, BJP MLA from Badkhal, lost the election for the post of president of the District Bar Association on Friday. He lost to Vivek Rawat, alias Bobby, by 105 votes. Shiv Dutt Vashist, a BJP office-bearer, was third.
Virender Bhati was elected as vice-president, Joginder Narwat as secretary, Tika Dagar as senior vice-president, Kuldeep Chandila as joint secretary, Abhishek Goswami as additional secretary, Vicky Bhamla as treasurer and Mukesh Kumar as senior executive member.
“Trikha’s rivals, mainly from the Congress, wanted to ensure his defeat to gain leverage ahead of the Assembly poll,” said Pratyush Sharma, a lawyer here. — TNS
